Punjab government increases quota for Islamabad domicile holders in medical colleges

In a significant relief for candidates holding Islamabad domicile, the Punjab government has decided to increase their quota for admission to government medical and dental colleges in the province. The number of seats has been raised from 3 to 30, with 26 allocated for MBBS and 4 for BDS programmes.
A spokesperson for the University of Health Sciences (UHS) announced that, in light of this development, the deadline for Islamabad-based applicants to apply for MBBS admissions has been extended by two days. The new deadline for submission of applications is now 5 PM on January 17. Additionally, applicants who have already submitted their applications can edit them within this extended period.
This extension applies only to candidates with Islamabad domicile. The deadline for candidates with Punjab domicile remains unchanged, and they must apply by January 15.
As of now, 12,967 candidates have submitted online applications for MBBS admissions. The admission process, which began on January 6, is being managed by UHS. The university has urged candidates to complete their applications promptly to avoid any inconvenience.
